Kathmandu, September 20. Nepal’s Erica Gurung has been eliminated from the women’s karate kumite final at the 20th Asian Games currently underway in Japan.
Competing in the women’s over-68kg category, Erica lost 2–1 to Kazakhstan’s Sofia Berutseva in the semifinal.
Erica had previously achieved a historic result for Nepal at the previous edition of the Asian Games, where she won a silver medal.
She entered this edition of the Games following her earlier success and competed strongly in the medal event before her semifinal defeat.
