US Launches Major Airstrikes on Iran, Middle East Tensions Escalate Again

 



Kathmandu, July 30 — The United States has launched large-scale airstrikes on multiple strategic locations inside Iran after Iran fired ballistic missiles at a U.S. military base in Jordan, reigniting tensions across the Middle East.


The military operation began just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Iran would face a strong response. According to Iranian state media, powerful explosions were reported in the cities of Abadan, Bandar Abbas, and Bushehr.


The strikes have drawn particular international attention because Bushehr is home to Iran's only nuclear power plant. Local sources also reported that a missile struck a residential area on Qeshm Island, while several strategic sites in Khuzestan Province were targeted during the attacks.


Amid the growing conflict, the United States and Saudi Arabia also carried out joint airstrikes against Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) positions in Iraq. Initial reports indicate that at least 20 fighters were killed and 32 others were injured.


The Iraqi government strongly condemned the attacks, calling them a serious violation of the country's sovereignty. In protest, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi canceled his previously scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia.


Tensions have also intensified around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil shipping routes. Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed it had targeted three oil tankers attempting to pass through the waterway without its authorization, raising concerns over global energy supplies.


Speaking from the Oval Office, President Trump said the military operation was a direct response to Iran's recent missile attack. The latest developments have heightened fears of a broader military conflict in the Middle East, with the international community closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation.
