Former Kapilvastu Mayor Kiran Singh Found Dead in Forest

 


Kathmandu: Former mayor of Kapilvastu Municipality and Nepali Congress leader Kiran Singh, 65, who had been out of contact for three days, was found dead on Sunday.

According to police, Singh’s body was discovered in the Gorusinge forest in Kapilvastu on Sunday afternoon.

Singh had left his residence in Kapilvastu-3 at around 2 p.m. on Friday. He had not been in contact with his family or relatives since then.

During the search, police found the Lu Pra 01-013 Pa 7970 motorcycle that Singh usually used parked in a forest area approximately eight kilometers from the East-West Highway.

After the motorcycle was found, police intensified the search operation and subsequently discovered Singh’s body in the forest.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway. The exact cause of Singh’s death has not yet been disclosed.
