Liverpool Suffer 3–2 Defeat to Monaco

 


Kathmandu: Liverpool suffered a 3–2 defeat against Monaco in a pre-season friendly after failing to protect a two-goal lead.

The match, played at Anfield, saw Liverpool take an early lead. Alexander Isak opened the scoring in the 16th minute to put Liverpool ahead.

Florian Wirtz doubled Liverpool’s advantage in the 29th minute, making it 2–0.

However, Monaco reduced the deficit just before half-time. Aleksandr Golovin converted a penalty in the 44th minute to make it 2–1.

Monaco continued its strong performance in the second half. Mika Biereth scored in the 56th minute to bring the game level at 2–2.

Monaco completed the comeback late in the match when Paris Brunner scored in the 88th minute to secure a 3–2 victory.

Liverpool were unable to hold on to their two-goal advantage and ended up suffering a defeat in the pre-season friendly.
