Kalaiya: A two-year-old girl who went missing from Katiparsa in Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City–1, Bara, on Saturday evening was found safe about 12 hours later.
The girl, Bindi Mandal, had disappeared from her home, prompting her family to inform the police. Following the report, the District Police Office, Bara, launched an overnight search operation under the command of Superintendent of Police Narendra Kunwar, with a trained sniffer dog also deployed.
During the search on Sunday morning, a local woman found the girl crying in a roadside drain at Sisawa Maheshpur in Kalaiya–26. She immediately rescued the child from the drain and took her to her home, where she provided care.
The police team later took the girl into its care and transported her to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya for a health examination. According to the police, the medical examination showed that her health condition was normal.
After the examination, the girl was safely handed over to her family, the District Police Office, Bara, said.
The safe recovery of the child brought relief and happiness to her family, while her disappearance had caused concern among local residents for several hours.
