Prime Minister's Office Blacklists Seven Construction Companies

 


Kathmandu, Aug. 7: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO), under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, has blacklisted seven construction companies for failing to complete government projects within the agreed timeframe.

In a notice issued on Friday, the office said the companies were blacklisted following recommendations from various government agencies.

According to the PPMO, the action was taken under Section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2007 (2063 B.S.) against contractors that failed to fulfill their contractual obligations.

The blacklisted companies have been barred from participating in any public procurement or government bidding process for periods ranging from one and a half years to three years.

The office stated that it will continue taking legal action against contractors that fail to complete government projects on time or violate the terms of their contracts.
