Nepal and UAE Clash in ACC Premier Cup Final

Kathmandu, September 12 — Nepal and the United Arab Emirates are facing each other today in the final of the ACC Premier Cup, with the winner securing the title and a place in the upcoming Asia Cup.

The final is being played at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first.

The match is particularly important for both teams because the champion will earn the opportunity to compete in the Asia Cup. Nepal, the winner of the inaugural edition in 2023, defeated the UAE by seven wickets in that final.

The UAE claimed the title in the second edition in 2024 after defeating hosts Oman. Both teams are now aiming to win the Premier Cup for the second time.

Nepal reached this year's final after recording four victories from five matches, including the group stage and semifinal. The UAE, meanwhile, has remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

Nepal also holds the advantage in their one-day international head-to-head record. The two teams have met 19 times, with Nepal winning 11 matches and the UAE eight. Nepal has also won three of their last five encounters.

Nepal defeated the UAE in both of their matches during the World Cup League 2 series in May. The Nepali team will be looking to continue that strong record and lift the Premier Cup, while the UAE will be determined to stop Nepal and claim the title for a second time.
