Pickup Truck Accident in Bara Leaves Driver Dead, Co-Driver Injured

 

Bara — A pickup truck accident in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City–7, Chhatapipra, Bara, has left the driver dead and the co-driver injured.

The accident occurred at around 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday in front of the Army Barracks along the Pathlaiya–Birgunj road section. According to police, the empty Bolero pickup, bearing registration number Na. 5 Cha 2277, was traveling from Pathlaiya toward Birgunj when it suddenly went out of control.

The vehicle hit the road divider, crossed over it and overturned on the right side of the road.

The driver, 22-year-old Jaimudin Ansari, son of Wakil Miyan Ansari of Prasautipur, Birgunj Metropolitan City–30, Parsa, sustained serious head injuries. He was rushed to LS Neuro Hospital in Parwanipur, Bara, for treatment.

Doctors declared Ansari dead at around 8:45 a.m. after conducting an ECG. His body has been kept at the same hospital.

The co-driver, 20-year-old Swayambhula Ansari, son of Subhan Ansari of Bishrampur Rural Municipality–9, Parsa, sustained injuries to his left hand and left leg. His condition is reported to be moderate.

Following the accident, a five-member team including traffic police led by Senior Police Assistant Inspector Umesh Niraula from the Area Police Office, Jitpur, reached the scene. Another five-member team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayakrishna Bhatt from the Area Police Office, Simara, also reached the site.

Police said the accident did not obstruct traffic along the road. The pickup truck has been taken under the control of the Area Police Office, Jitpur.
