Minneapolis: Three people, including the suspected shooter, have died following a shooting at an apartment building in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, on Wednesday.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of gunfire at around 4:30 p.m. Authorities said additional shots were fired from an upper floor, while heavy smoke made it difficult for officers to carry out the operation and rescue efforts.

Five people, including two police officers, were injured in the incident. Three of the injured officers are reported to be in stable condition.

According to police, one of the victims died at the scene, while another died at a hospital. The suspected shooter also died. Authorities have not yet released the suspect's identity or the circumstances surrounding the death.

Witnesses said the suspected shooter may have been a resident of the apartment building and claimed that the person had previously been seen displaying a weapon.
