US-Iran Military Conflict Escalates Again, 4 Killed as Missile Shrapnel Hits Wedding Ceremony

Kathmandu. Military tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated again after the two countries exchanged fresh attacks. The United States launched another strike on Iran, prompting Tehran to carry out retaliatory attacks against US military positions in the region.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the US military resumed strikes against Iran on Tuesday. CENTCOM said the operation was launched after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attempted to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Red Crescent reported that four people, including a child, were killed and more than 50 others injured in the US attack.

According to the organization, missile shrapnel from a US strike in Sirik, southern Iran, hit a house where a wedding ceremony was taking place. The casualties occurred in the incident.

Following the US strikes, Iran launched retaliatory attacks targeting American military facilities. Local media reported that Iranian forces attacked US bases in Iraq and Jordan, while further attacks were also reported in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The IRGC warned that the United States would regret the latest attack.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iran fired ballistic missiles at a US naval facility in Aqaba, Jordan, early Wednesday morning in retaliation for the strike on Sirik.

Jordan’s armed forces said they intercepted 13 ballistic missiles. Ten were destroyed, while three fell in remote areas. No casualties have been reported from the Iranian attack so far.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti military said its air defense systems remained active on Wednesday morning in response to reported Iranian missile attacks.

The latest exchange of attacks has further heightened tensions across the Middle East, with countries in the region increasing security measures amid fears of further escalation.
