CAVA Championship: Nepal Face Must-Win Clash Against Bangladesh Today

Kathmandu, July 26 — Nepal will take on Bangladesh today in a crucial match of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Championship, currently being held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:45 PM Nepal time.

After suffering three consecutive defeats, Nepal will be aiming for their first victory of the tournament. The match is considered a must-win encounter if the team hopes to keep its semifinal ambitions alive.

In their previous outing, Nepal were outclassed by hosts Pakistan in straight sets, losing 25–14, 25–18, 25–10. Earlier in the tournament, Nepal also lost closely contested five-set matches against Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka.

The competition follows a single round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. Teams finishing outside the top four will compete for fifth place.

Nepal will play their final league-stage match against Uzbekistan on Monday. Before that, the team will be looking to bounce back with a much-needed win over Bangladesh to remain in contention for the knockout stage.
