UML and NCP Reach Three-Point Agreement on Provincial Governments, Oli and Prachanda Sign Deal

 


Kathmandu, July 25 — The CPN-UML and the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have reached a three-point agreement on the formation and operation of provincial governments.

The agreement was formally signed on Saturday by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.

Under the agreement, the two parties have agreed to share the leadership of five provincial governments through mutual understanding. However, the leadership and government formation in Gandaki and Madhesh provinces will be decided after further consultations with other political parties.

Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and ensuring stable, effective, and people-oriented provincial governments. The agreement is expected to accelerate the process of forming provincial governments and finalising leadership arrangements.

Political observers view the deal as a significant step toward shaping the new provincial power-sharing framework, while discussions with other parties are expected before a final decision is made regarding Gandaki and Madhesh provinces.

The viral video shows Gupta, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Siraha Constituency-1, standing on the back of a moving Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
