MBS Exam Paper Leak: Lecturer Teaching at Two Colleges Arrested, Investigation Underway

 


Kathmandu, July 26 — Nepal Police's Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested a lecturer accused of leaking the question paper of Tribhuvan University's Master of Business Studies (MBS) first-semester examination.

The arrested lecturer has been identified as Sandeep Singh, 33, who teaches Finance at Himalayan College in Koteshwor and Kathmandu Model College (KMC) in Bagbazar.

According to the CIB, Singh was arrested on Sunday from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1 in Bhaktapur. He is a permanent resident of Ghodaghodi Municipality-11 in Kailali district. Police have launched an investigation against him under Nepal's Education Act.

The case relates to the MGT 515: Organizational Behavior examination held on July 24 (Shrawan 8). Investigators found that the question paper was shared in a WhatsApp group just minutes after the examination began.

The incident came to light after screenshots of the WhatsApp group, showing the leaked question paper, circulated on social media the same day, prompting a CIB investigation.

Police said preliminary findings indicate that the paper was shared from Singh's WhatsApp account. However, investigators are still trying to determine how he obtained the confidential examination paper.

With several MBS first-semester examinations still remaining, the CIB has urged students, teachers, and institutions to refrain from any illegal activities related to examinations. Authorities have warned that anyone found involved in question paper leaks or other examination-related offenses will face legal action in accordance with the law.
