Education Ministry to Hold Consultations Across Seven Provinces Before Introducing Education Act

 


Kathmandu — The Ministry of Education has decided to travel to all seven provinces and hold direct discussions with stakeholders from the education sector before introducing the proposed Education Act.

The ministry is launching an initiative called “Education Dialogue,” with the first program scheduled to take place in Biratnagar on Saturday. The event will be held at Adarsha Secondary School in Biratnagar at 11 a.m.

According to the ministry, similar programs will be organized in Janakpurdham of Madhes Province, Hetauda of Bagmati Province, Pokhara of Gandaki Province, Butwal of Lumbini Province, Surkhet of Karnali Province, and Dhangadhi of Sudurpaschim Province.

Education Minister’s adviser Shailendra Jha and School Division chief Shiva Sapkota, among others, will participate in the discussions. Representatives responsible for education at the local level, teachers, students, principals, parents and other stakeholders will be invited to share their views and suggestions.

The ministry said the campaign aims to make the process of drafting the Education Act more participatory by collecting suggestions from provincial and local levels and incorporating them into policymaking.

The ministry considers the provincial-level dialogues an important step toward ensuring that the proposed Education Act reflects the concerns and needs of stakeholders across the country.

The viral video shows Gupta, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Siraha Constituency-1, standing on the back of a moving Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
