Four Arrested in Birgunj with Rs 5.25 Million in Unexplained Cash

 


Birgunj: Police in Parsa have arrested four people after recovering Rs 5.25 million in cash whose source could not be verified.

Acting on a special tip-off, a police team stopped and searched the four individuals traveling on two motorcycles in Adarshanagar, Birgunj Metropolitan City-10. Police said the cash was recovered during the search.

The motorcycles involved were registered as Province 2-03-003 Pa 7215 and Na 57 Pa 5182.

Those arrested have been identified as 26-year-old Suraj Karn of Dumra Police Station area in Sitamarhi district of Bihar, India; 32-year-old Upendra Sah of Prasouni Rural Municipality-1, Bara; 26-year-old Sagarkumar Sarsaf of the same locality; and 25-year-old Rahutkumar Gupta of Bindabasini Rural Municipality-1, Parsa.

According to police, the seized cash consisted of 4,005 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination, 2,353 notes of Rs 500, 643 notes of Rs 100, and 84 notes of Rs 50, totaling Rs 5.25 million.

Police said the individuals could not provide a clear source for the money. Further investigation into the case is underway.
