Nepali Congress Opposition Faction Begins National Gathering, Deuba to Inaugurate

 


Kathmandu: The opposition faction within the Nepali Congress is beginning its national gathering today in Kathmandu.

The gathering is being held at Miracle Party Palace in Sukedhara. According to Min Bishwakarma, coordinator of the publicity committee, former Nepali Congress president and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will inaugurate the event at 11:30 a.m.

The gathering will continue until August 16. Former general secretary of the Nepali Congress, Dr. Shashank Koirala, is coordinating the event.

The faction has become increasingly active following the Supreme Court’s recent decision to allow a review of the dispute over the leadership and legitimacy of the Nepali Congress.

The gathering is expected to focus on the party’s current situation, internal organization, leadership, and future political strategy.

Leaders and representatives associated with the faction are also expected to discuss the disputes within the party and ways to strengthen their position ahead of upcoming political developments.

The national gathering is being viewed as an important event for the faction, which has remained outside the party’s establishment camp. The outcome of the meeting could also provide an indication of the group’s future strategy and its approach to the ongoing leadership dispute within the Nepali Congress.

The viral video shows Gupta, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Siraha Constituency-1, standing on the back of a moving Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
