Two of Three Children Missing in Lalbakaiya River Found Dead

 


Rautahat: Two of the three children who went missing after drowning while bathing in the Lalbakaiya River in Rautahat have been found dead.

The two victims have been identified as 10-year-old Mohammad Ramtula, son of Karme Alam, and 10-year-old Sabnam Khatun, daughter of Hisi Aktar. Both were residents of Karuniya in Devahi Gonahi Municipality–1, Rautahat.

According to DSP Basanta Gautam, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Ramtula’s body was found about five kilometers south of the incident site, while Sabnam’s body was recovered approximately 5.2 kilometers south along the bank of the Lalbakaiya River.

A police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Lalbabu Sahani from the temporary police post in Jingadwa recovered the bodies on Wednesday morning.

Police Inspector Pramod Khadka, leading a team from the Area Police Office in Garuda, has been deployed to complete the legal procedures concerning the bodies.

The third child, 10-year-old Roushan Khatun, is still missing. Police teams are continuing the search for her.
