Kathmandu, September 17. At least 21 people, including eight children, were killed after a building damaged during the war collapsed in Gaza City, according to local rescue workers.
The building in the Tal al-Hawa area collapsed suddenly during the night. Several people are believed to remain trapped under the rubble, while rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate those missing.
Local residents said the building had been severely damaged in an Israeli attack more than a year ago and had gradually become unstable, leaning to one side. Despite the danger, displaced families continued living there because they had few alternatives for shelter.
According to local residents, around 10 families were staying in apartments inside the building when it collapsed.
United Nations agencies and a team from Egypt have joined the search and rescue operation. However, officials said a shortage of equipment has made it difficult to clear the rubble and search for survivors.
Rescue efforts are still underway, and the number of casualties could rise as the search continues.
