The accident occurred in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City–4 when the motorcycle, reportedly traveling at high speed, collided with a road divider, according to police.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Anil Rai of Bhirgau, Dhankuta Municipality–2. He was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Birat Teaching Hospital for treatment, where he later died, said Chandra Bahadur Khadka, information officer at the District Police Office, Sunsari.
Another motorcycle rider, 26-year-old Sandeep Rai from the same locality, was also injured in the accident. He is receiving treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital, police said.
According to police, the accident occurred when the speeding motorcycle struck the divider placed on the road. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
