Motorcyclist Fined After MP Bablu Gupta's Motorcycle Stunt Goes Viral

 


Siraha, July 24 — Traffic police have fined the rider of a motorcycle after a video showing Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Bablu Gupta performing a risky stunt while riding went viral on social media.

The viral video shows Gupta, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Siraha Constituency-1, standing on the back of a moving Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle. The footage sparked widespread criticism online, with many questioning the violation of traffic safety rules.

Following public concern, the District Traffic Police Office in Lahan took action against the motorcycle rider, Pitambar Chaudhary, for violating traffic regulations. According to the police, the rider of the Bagmati Province 02-025 Pa 5231 motorcycle was fined Rs. 500 under the Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 1993 (2049 B.S.).

Traffic police also released a copy of the fine receipt confirming the penalty imposed on the rider.

Meanwhile, MP Bablu Gupta admitted his mistake and apologized through a social media post. He said he became emotional while revisiting the place where he spent his childhood and, in a moment of excitement, stood on the back of the moving motorcycle to record a video.

"I realized that I had violated traffic rules. If I knowingly or unknowingly made any mistake, I sincerely apologize," Gupta wrote, adding that the incident was unintentional.
