U.S. Claims Iran Launched Surprise Missile Attack, Regional Tensions Rise Again



Kathmandu, July 29 — The United States military has claimed that Iran launched a surprise ballistic missile attack targeting U.S. military bases in the Middle East. According to the U.S. military, all incoming missiles were successfully intercepted, preventing any damage or casualties.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the attack took place on Tuesday evening but did not disclose the exact locations or military installations that were targeted.

Following the incident, U.S. and Saudi Arabian forces reportedly carried out a joint military operation against Iran-backed militant positions in eastern Iraq.

CENTCOM stated that the operation was conducted in response to 30 drone attacks on U.S. military bases over the past 72 hours, alleging that the attacks were supported by Iran.

Iran has not yet issued an official response to the U.S. allegations.

The reported missile attack comes at a time when direct military confrontation between the two countries had subsided and hopes were growing for renewed diplomatic talks. Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump said that discussions with Iran had been "very friendly."

The latest developments have once again raised concerns over renewed tensions between the United States and Iran, fueling fears of further instability across the Middle East.
